Once again, my website has been neglected while I have been tied up working on the construction project at our Church.
After working all through winter (with the exception of a Government enforced 2 week construction break for Covid) we have now completed all the construction and just have to lay carpet tiles and clean up. The Church will be ready for use as we await our Occupancy Certificate from Council and also the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions related to Places of Worship.
So what did we do?
- Built in the mezzanine level and separated it into 2 large rooms. Large windows overlooking the auditorium are double glazed and made in-situ.
- Built a small office/copier-room on top of the existing disabled toilets.
- Worked with the complex owner in building new male & female toilets.
- Built a meeting room above the new toilets, joined to the mezzanine level by a walkway spanning the stairs. Again adding double glazed windows made in-situ.
- Created a morning tea and reception area using 2nd hand kitchen cabinets with a new benchtop.
- Expanded the kitchen area with further 2nd hand kitchen cabinets and benchtop.
All up our small team of 3 handled everything from design through all elements of construction and painting. And personally speaking, I learnt the new skills of gyprocking and plastering. Electrical work and safety signage was handled by another member of our church.
